So another week has gone by in the Epic Universe.
A few big changes. Some I'm not ready to talk about. I had a super bad cold. I've been sick for about a week now. I have not been this uncomfortable in a long time. The whole family ended up sick.
I'm still working on this kitchen. I laid down some hardwood flooring. I really enjoyed it. I'm a little sore and have to spend another day shifting the flooring to line up with the center of the hallway so it looks square. I had planned on redoing the flooring, but after moving the fridge in place I need to figure out a way to adjust the flooring without moving the fridge. The problem is that the one board that needs to be cut to square the floor is under the fridge. I'm really hopeful that I will be able to slide the flooring over just enough to tip the fridge and pull the board out without having to pick up all the boards. This may end up just being more work than just pulling all the boards.
I moved half of them super easy. Fingers crossed. I hope this works. I really want to get this done today. If I get the flooring in place I can finish the kitchen. Well I can get the cabinets installed and have a place for our dishes and get rid of my mess out back.
Everyone has been very kind putting up with my messy construction site. What I thought would take me a few months has taken a good six months. While I'm stronger and really do enjoy the work it has been painful and stressful. I'm just glad I have this opportunity to get back on my feet. I'm really excited to get done so I can focus most of my energy on Epic Survivors.
I'm going to try and work out a deal with a local beef farmer to trade my labor, moving flagstones, in exchange for beef that I would then smoke to trade and sell. I'm still spinning the idea of building a bicycle smoker-grill trailer that I can ride around town selling my smoked meats to construction workers.
I have yet to make it to the gym. I really wish I could make it a few days a week. Maybe next week. For now I'll settle on the work I'm doing and a little playing in the snow. Yeah we got a lot of snow for Portland! Today is going to be fun! Maybe I can even ride my bike if I make chains!
Thanks for reading and support the Epic cause. Have a good day! Enjoy the snow is you have some! Oh yeah look at all the Epic Christmas candy on sale!
