Sharing our stories to give hope and inspire others.
After sharing Patrica's story I have been doing a lot of soul searching. I have done some research on the food crisis she told me about and I'm in shock.
Several things from our conversation via messenger have really stuck in my head. I have not been sleeping well for the last few months and we have been facebook friends for a few years now. We have chatted from time to time. When we started talking the other day about about sharing her story she told me that she had been up for two days and I was like 'yeah I have not been sleeping very well too' then she told me that she was up for two day so she could go to town and buy food. That took awhile to sink in!
I can't get that out of my head. I did a quick Google search and Venezuela is going through some major hardships. There are food riots going on.
I found this video on YouTube. It's really sad I'm going to figure out how to send her a care package with food and a smartphone so she can have better access to the internet and to be able to take photos and make videos. Her neighbors let her use their WiFI and she currently uses her sisters computer.
If you would like to send Patrica a care package as well please contact me and I'll give you here shipping information. I suspect it will be fairly expensive to ship, but this is something that I have to do. If you can't afford to ship her a package and still want to help we can pool our resources and make sure she gets a few boxes of food.
